1s v Datchet 2
Datchet were the visitors to the Racecourse, and were inserted to bat after Ascot won the toss. Faaris Ali (35) and Nipun Chopra (45) put on a good opening stand of 69 and despite the loss of a couple of quick wickets, Vishal Aeri (50) and Ibrahim Zahid (39) got Datchet back on track and with some runs from the lower order reached a very respectable score of 249 all out in 45 overs.
In response, Ascot never really got going and it was the late order batters who got Ascot to 209 all out with Jack Barley top scoring on 38. Amandeep Dhinsa (3 for 28) and Faaris Ali (3 for 39) took the bowling honours and the win for Datchet
Eversley 3 v 2s
The 2s made the trip to Eversley. On winning the toss, Ascot elected to field first. Eversley’s innings was built around a 99 run 3rd wicket stand from Anup Urath (62) and Pete de Lange (48) which took them to 155 for 2. But 3 wickets from Thomas Clarke saw Ascot fight back with Kevin Manning (36) providing the main resistance from the tail to get them to 236 all out off 44.3 overs.
In response, Ascot’s top order kept up with the scoring rate with Manvir Dhaliwal (37), Ben Moffat (51) and Jacob Parry (22) providing the perfect platform to Rahul Singh (59 not out) and Gowtham Yeramanasetti (25 not out) to finish the game and win by 7 wickets and 27 balls remaining.
Holyport 2 v 3s
The 3s made trip to new TVCL club, Holyport. On winning the toss they elected to field first. Unfortunately it was a short day as Holyport reached 76 all out thanks to Srivatsan Senji Gomadam who made more than half the runs with 40. Naeem Mohammad with 4 for 19 and Usman Mumtaz 3 for 11 were the pick of the Ascot attack.
But Ascot found conditions even harder against them as they were soon in trouble at 11 for 5. Despite the middle order providing some resistance with Usman Mumtaz top scoring on 24, the 3s were unable to escape their fate and were all out for 69. Jawad Masood took 4 for 22 for the home side.
4s v Boyne Hill 4
Boyne Hill were the visitors at Locks Ride. They won the toss and elected to bat first.
