1s v Windsor
Despite the rain in the previous couple of days, the ground was in good shape and the start delayed by only 15 minutes. Windsor won the toss and elected to bowl.
Early in roads were made as Jem Bains was caught and bowled by Bailey Niblett and Ed Clarke was given out lbw to make it 13 for 2. Zaki and Karemaker made double figures but were also out but Adam Smith and Ben Churchyard looked to have stopped the tide at 84 for 4 before Smith was out for 27. Owen Bowles provided some lone resistance with 18 not out but Ascot subsided to 111 all out.
Bailey Niblett took 4 for 28 and Issac Dibsdall 3 for 16.
Myles Trainor took two early wickets to have Windsor at 28 for 2 but William Moss and Kai Ziemkendorf steadied the ship with a 42 run partnership and despite them both going Windsor lost just one more wicket to ease to a 5 wicket victory.
Yateley v 2s
The 2s made the trip to Yateley and decided to bowl first. All of the top 6 got good starts but it was the fifth wicket partnership of Cameron Hume (51) and Joshua Gore (57) that gave Yateley great momentum and took them from 112 for 4 to 221 for 5.
Tom Clarke came back on and took 5 for 53 which helped restrict Yateley to a very sizeble 264 all out off 47 overs.
Deep Mohain’s 103 kept Ascot in the chase and the middle order of Sam Burling (41), Tom Clarke (26 not out) and Ben Atkin (38 not out) got Ascot within 3 runs of an amazing win when they finished on 262 for 6 off 53 overs. A great effort by all of the 2s.
3s v Eversley 4
The 3s were put in at Locks Ride by Eversley. It was a good decision as only Murray Barter (19) opening and Ashwin Vasudevan (23 not out) in the tail made a dent against the Eversley attack as they fell for 106 all out in under 22 overs.
Ewan Johns took 5 for 22 for Eversley.
Ascot started well and took 4 wickets quickly but Seb Powers (43 not out) saw Eversley home by 6 wickets and nearly 17 overs remaining.
4s v Wokingham 6
The 4s were away to Wokingham and the match was reduced to a 32 overs per side due to the weather. Ascot elected to bat and their total was built on a formidable 2nd wicket partnership between Jacob Phillips (115) and Matt Hurdwell (54) to help them reach a strong 204 for 7 off 32 overs. Micah Doughty took 4 for 13 for Wokingham.
The rain at tea meant that Wokingham were chasing a revised score of 196 off 30 overs. The Ascot attack stood firm to the task and Wokingham went from 47 for 0 to 47 for 3 and then 96 for 4 to 114 for 9. Despite an unbeaten 10th wicket partnership, Wokingham ended on 157 for 9 off 30 overs. Another good win for the 4s.
