1s v Wargrave 2
Ascot won the toss and elected to bowl first. Oliver Newton got them off to a good start with 65 but when he was dismissed the match was in the balance at 138 for 6. But a couple of dropped catches allowed Wargrave to go on to make 253 all out in 51 overs with Matthew Townson 74 and Adit Rajeev 49.
Owen Bowles took 5 for 78 for Ascot as well as taking 3 catches.
However, after a promising few overs, Ascot subsided from 34 for 0 to 100 all out as they were blown away by Jack Clark’s 5 for 22. A tough first half of the season.
Wargrave 3 v 2s
The 2s made the trip to Wargrave and were invited to bat first. Dan Mallett 31 and that man again Jeremy WIng 38 helped Ascot to a solid start but Dan Corsini with 83 not out helped Ascot to a strong 203 for 6 off 52 overs.
Wargrave started well with Liam Taylor 41 and Ragan Jaim 30 but then Tom Clarke with 5 for 22 and Tim Howson 3 for 51 combined to get Wargrave all out for 152 despite a late 28 from Finlay Chisolm to record their first victory.
3s v Fleet 2
The 3s won the toss and elected to bat first. All of the top order got runs but Hassan Sohail’s 78 helped the 3s to a good 232 for 8 off 40 overs.
But Fleet had other ideas and won with just under half of the overs remaining as Vicki Mourou with 133 not out saw them home at a canter by 9 wickets.
Bagshot 3 v 4s
The 4s made the trip to Windlesham and were invited to bat first.
Matt Hurdwell 61 and Will Osgood 58 not out helped Ascot reach 161 for 7 off 40 overs. Matt Pettet bowled tightly to take 3 for 12 for the Baggies.
In response, Ascot had no answer to James Balcombe’s 95 as the Baggies won by 7 wickets with just over three overs remaining.
