This week the headline has to go to Under 9 player – Louis Lancaster – who took an amazing 6 wickets in 6 deliveries in the Under 9 match against Maidenhead & Bray. A very special achievement that led to a great victory!
The 1st XI lost momentum in their defeat against Purley-on-Thames. Purley won the toss and batted first. They reached 200 in the final over before being bowled out. The wickets were shared around by Will Ellison, Mike Brown, Kevin May & Nick Wiggett.
However the 1s innings never took off with wickets falling regularly. James Gamble top scored with 31 as they reached 115 all out. They stay in 3rd place but will need to play well in the second half of the season to get top spot.
The 2s got a great 25 point win against Teddington Town 2s at home. They reached 172 for 9 with contributions from Jason Carr (36), Howard Green (33), Deep Mohain (24), Andy Murray (23no) & Arup Vidyerthy (20). Teddington Town were all out for 144 in main to a great bowling spell by Andy Murray who took 6 for 64 and help keep top spot in 6B.
The 3s lost to British Airways 3s by 6 wickets. Batting first they made 164 – Rob Handley top scoring with 74. British Airways reached the total in the 32nd over – but the 3s are still just top of 7A.
The 4s got a winning draw against Cove Academy. Batting first they reached 191 for 7 with captain Ralph Weeks top scoring with 41. But Cove Academy held for a draw reaching 149 for 5. The 4s are in 4th position in 8A.
