The weather forecast at the beginning of the week was fine, and then each day a band of rain in the forecast kept edging towards the area, and then for a longer period.
So after a week of no rain, all four league matches were abandoned before the first innings was completed.
The 1s managed to bat for 23 overs with the match finally poised at 113 for 4. Jack Lunghusen scored 50, with Jeremy Hare 21 not out and Will Ellison 17 not out before the rain came.
The 2s were fielding against Henley 3s at Nettlestead when the match was abandoned at 132 for 5 with Saeed Ahmed taking 3 for 26.
The 3s were at home to Theale & Tilehurst 3s. They played in the rain until eventually the weather won with Theale & Tilehurst on 208 for 6 off 41 overs.
The 4s were at Bracknell 2s when the match was abandoned with Bracknell on 143 for 2 off 32 overs.
So the Saturday matches ended in a damp squib, each team taking 7 points.
The midweek Twenty 20 team have now played their first two league matches. The first away to Woodley was a close low scoring affair with Woodley chasing down 98 for the loss of 6 wickets and 20 deliveries remaining.
The second match at Sonning saw Ascot reach 201 off 20 overs with Jack Lunghusen making 99. Sonning reached 149 for 6, so Ascot have recorded their first win in the Bracknell Midweek League Division 2.
