The 1s saw Aldershot 1 visit the Racecourse Ground. Ascot won the toss and elected to bowl first. Today the cricketing gods smiled on the 1s as they put in a great performance both bowling and fielding to see Aldershot fall for 66 all out off 37.5 overs. Mike Brown led the attack with 4 for 21.
Ascot then knocked off the runs in under 16 overs as the openers Jack Kendall 39 not out and Jack Turner 25 not out saw them through. A great result which will hopefully provide momentum for the rest of the season.
The 2s performed even better in the reverse fixture as they bowled out Aldershot 2s for 31 all out in under 17 overs.
Aarav Radhakkrishnan with 5 for 14 and Myles Trainor with 4 for 6 led the Ascot attack.
Rob Handley 18 not out and Gary Clarke 14 not out saw the 2s through to a 10 wicket win in under 10 overs and have now won two on the bounce.
The 3s elected to field against second placed Yateley 1s. The game looked in the balance at 81 for 5 but then 106 from James Halson saw Yateley make 254 for 7 declared off 48.1 overs. Tom Dummigan the pick of the Ascot bowlers with 4 for 41.
The total was too much as the 3s were eventually bowled out for 147 in the 45th over, with Deep Mohain top scoring with 34.
The 4s had a hard task as they visited top of the table Eversley 3. With only 9 men, they fought valiantly but Eversley piled on the runs with 272 for 4 off 40 overs, Bill Burnett making 100.
At 6 for 4 the game could have subsided quickly but the 4s managed to make 66 all out with Dirk Benneyworth carrying his bat for 21 not out as Stuart Tidbury took 4 for 5.
