Real Week 6 – Bangs and Crashes

The 1s were at the Racecourse Ground with Cove 2 the visitors. The 1s won the toss and elected to bat first. Joshua Jayasingh got the 1s off to a quick start with 25 while Harry Watson anchored the innings with 61 not out. Adam Smith 58 and Andy Murray 29 added momentum to help the 1s to 222 for 5 off 40 overs.

Rahul Suresh 41 and Archie Smith 28 got Cove off to a goodhelp start but Jayasingh snapped up both openers. Joseph Annette top scored with 44 off 43 balls. But the run rate kept increasing and wickets fell regularly, and the fell 20 runs short as Nick Wiggett took a great caught and bowled to finish proceedings. Andy Murray finished with 3 for 41.

The 2s were on the road at Thatcham Town 2s and elected to bat first. Jem Bains 67, Rob Handley 60, James Docker 33 and Tom Clarke 30 helped the 2s to a very respectable 246 for 7. Harvey Mackay returned great figures of 4 for 27.

However, the Ascot bowling attack could not contain the Thatcham Town line-up as Alistair Cooper 63, Chris Rochfort 60 not out and Rhys Williams 42 eased them to a 7 wicket victory.

Eversley 3s were the visitors at Locks Ride against the 3s and were put into bat first. Eversley made a good 160 all out as runs were not easy with Jim Heywood top scoring with 35 and Jacob Parry taking 3 for 19.

Ascot were blown away for 86 as only Dirk Benneyworth 26 not out and Tim Howson 18 provided resistance against Robert Saunders (4 for 10) and co.

The 4s were on the road at Kidmore End 3s. Put into bat they struggled to 80 all out as Nino Trapani top scored with 19. Kidmore End won by 10 wickets with nearly 30 overs remaining as Jonny Abbott made 53 not out.
