Firstly, congratulations to Seren, Bethan and Eleanor, who played for Berkshire this week. It is great to see our Girls section growing and becoming a vibrant part of the club.
1s v Taplow
Despite hopes of starting the rain ensured the match was cancelled
2s v Henley 3
The match was well poised after the 2s made a respectable 188 all out on the back of James Wensley 75. Henley’s Luke Loveland kept Ascot in check with 5 for 59.
Henley were on 90 for 3 after 25 overs when the rain came and the match had to be abandoned.
3s v Bradfield 2
The 3s were on the road to Bradfield and were asked to bat first after losing the toss. The 2s batted well and posted an impressive 209 for 7 off 40 overs with Hassan Sohail 60, Dirk Benneyworth 51 not out and Satpal Singh Madhan 45 piling the runs on.
Bradfield knew that rain may curtail the match so need to keep an eye on the ARR score. A couple of run outs and some good bowling and fielding saw Bradfield restricted to 95 for 5 off 28 overs when rain eventually stopped play and the 3s won by 51 runs.
4s v NPL 3
NPL were the visitors at Locks Ride in what was a low scoring affair. The 4s were put into bat and despite several batters getting a start, were grateful to James Summers 40 to get to 126 all out in 31.1 overs.
Thomas Bates took a great 6 for 14 for NPL.
However, in response, despite 33 from Uday Patel, no one else made double figures and NPL subsided to 84 all out in 26.1 overs to see Ascot win by 42 runs. Chris Thomason taking 3 for 5 for Ascot.
The weather is playing havoc on the TVCL schedule and Week 14 looks to be more of the same
