Datchet 2 v 1s
Ascot made the trip to Datchet, looking to reverse their fortunes having lost the home encounter. Ascot won the toss and elected to field first.
It was very much a case of two different ends while Datchet were batting. At one end, Datchet lost the occasional wicket while the strike rate was around 50 – 60. At the other end, Haris Asmie was hitting the Ascot attack around the ground to make a rapid 169 off 133 balls, including 24 fours and 7 sixes. The main support came from Ibrahim Zahid with 56.
Asmie fell on 251 for 3, and Datchet decided to declare one short of the 52 on 291 for 6. Tamoor Hussain was the pick of the Ascot attack with 3 for 59.
In response, Ascot were in early trouble at 66 for 3 with Datchet seemingly in control. But Rahul Singh (119) and Billy Baker (72) put on 174 for the fourth wicket to take back control. Despite them and Dylan Baker falling in the space of 11 runs, Shakil Ahmed (24 not out) and Tamoor Hussain (16 not out) saw Ascot home to a great win by 4 wickets and 4 balls remaining.
2s v Eversley 3
Eversley were the visitors at the Racecourse, and Ascot elected to field on winning the toss. Ojas Malpure (23) and James Heywood (39) put on 50 for the first wicket but the introduction of Tom Barley with 4 for 38 dented Eversley’s momentum. Will Tucker with 43 helped Eversley to a below par 177 for 9.
Ascot started steadily with Manvir Dhaliwal (45) and Ben Moffat (22), but when Dhaliwal fell at 86 for 2, Ascot were behind the run rate. Ben Atkin (24) injected some quick runs to help get Ascot back on track and despite losing several more wickets, Ryan Koopowitz (44 not out) and Thomas Clarke (14 not out) helped Ascot to a 4 wicket win with just over 3 overs remaining.
3s v Holyport 2
At Locks Ride, Holyport were the visitors and elected to field on winning the toss. Most of the Ascot batters got starts and made double figures and Matt Lambert top scored with 33 not out to help Ascot reach 229 for 8 off 40 overs.
In response, Holyport lost wickets at regular intervals with Charlie Ticehurst top scoring with 19 as they fell to 111 all out off 26.3 overs, losing by 118 runs. Andy Wiggett was the pick of the Ascot attack with 4 for 20.
Boyne Hill 4 v 4s
The 4s were at Boyne Hill and it was tough day for Ascot, who were put into bat by Boyne Hill. Arun Chadrasekaran top scored with 22 as the 4s limped to 80 all out. Owen Roberts took 3 for 2.
Boyne Hill knocked the runs off 10.4 overs for the loss of only 2 wickets for an easy win.
