Tom Mellor reached his 50 and it was left to him to face the final over against his opposite number.

The final over started – 4 dot balls with 2 survive. Then Naylor got one to finally get through Mellor’s defence and he was out lbw for 52, as Boyne Hill reached a valiant 263 all out off 57.5 overs. With Bracknell United and Harpsden winning, it was a much needed win to keep Ascot in the chase.
