1s v Finchampstead 3

Finchampstead made the trip to the Racecourse. They won the toss and elected to bat first. Will Powell struck early as he had Sam Jenkings caught behind for 1. Louis Crerar (35) and Freddie Bishop (29) put on a partnership of 55 before Bishop fell to Rajiv Docker who took three quick wickets and with Tamoor Hussain removing Crerar, Finchampstead were in trouble at 81 for 5.

Aidan Muir (23) and Lewis O’Donoghue (19) put on a mini revival to take the score to 129 for 7, but three more quick wickets saw Finchampstead 129 all out. Rajiv Docker with 4 for 39 and Will Powell with 3 for 34 were the pick of the Ascot attack.

Ascot had 57 overs to chase the runs but lost both openers leaving Ascot 22 for 2, Rahul Singh started promisingly but fell for 20 and then Steve Naylor was caught for 33, leaving Ascot on 79 for 4. But Adam Smith (28 not out) and Kamran Hanif (22 not our) knocked off the runs to ease Ascot to a 6 wicket win in under 21 overs.

Holyport 1 v 2s

Holyport won the toss and elected to bat first. The Ascot attack had no answers as Holyport went on the offensive with Ghulam Mirza firing 129 and Mohammed Obaid Wajid 74 adding 214 for the second wicket. Ascot managed to pull them back with several wickets with Vishal Vijay the pick of the Ascot attack with 3 for 61, but the momentum was with Holyport who finished on 346 for 7.

In reply the Ascot batting line-up didn’t have the firepower to match Holyport as they made 185 all out in response. The bright spot was the openers Ben Moffat (58) and Thomas Brooke (37) but Muhammad Ahsan bkew away the middle and lower order with 5 for 28.

Warfield 1 v 3s

The 3s made the short trip to Warfield. Ascot won the toss and elected to bat first. Waqas Ashraf kept the top order ticking over with 68 and Yeshas Vijay made a well constructed 40 as other batters chipped in to get Ascot to a respectable 196 all out off 39 overs. Gurpreet Thind took 3 for 21 for Warfield.

It was nip and tuck in the Warfield innings as several batters made contributions including Jack Cantle (39), Firas Rajabdeen (30) and Mahendra Wijesingha (28) kept Warfield in the chase but with wickets falling and the run-rate increasing, Warfield fell short on 179 all out. Yeshas Vijay was the star of the Ascot attack with 4 for 27.
