Week 11 saw all four teams play big matches as we start getting towards to the business end of the season.

The 1s were at home to fourth placed Aldershot. Nick Sweetman won the toss and inserted Aldershot. A great decision as a good bowling and fielding display saw Aldershot all out for 127 in 34 overs. Mike Brown was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 33. Ascot then went into bat and were 52 for 2 at tea. The win and 20 points were completed in 17.3 overs as Ascot made 131 for 4 and stay in second place, now only 9 points behind Thatcham Town.

Next week see the 1s play at fifth placed Falkland 2s.

The 2s were away at Aldershot 3s and Jason Carr won the toss and elected to bat. Ascot put on a formidable total of 254 for 3 led by a great innings of 88 from Chris Batchu and 66 from Jason Carr allowing them to declare after 50 overs. Aldershot 3 were then bowled out for 164 with Jason Carr picking up another 5 wickets and 25 points to keep Ascot top of the table with a 30 point lead over Wargrave 2s.

Next week they are at home to Chiswick & Whitton 3s.

The 3s were away at Newbury 2s and Richard Wyatt won the toss and elected to bat. A solid 70 opening partnership by Chris Harding and Murray Barter then saw both the openers fall quickly within a couple of overs. This brought Josh Oshea and Oliver Dunnett to the wicket and put on over a century for the third wicket. Josh Oshea eventually fell for 76 and Oliver Dunnett made a fine 67 not out as the 3s declared on 242 for 3 after 45 overs.

Newbury 2s then made a great start to the run chase despite the early loss of Austin Keep then Sat Pal and Brad Alton kept Newbury ahead of the run rate in a fine century stand. The fall of these wickets both to Marc Ames for fine 50s helped turned the match. Newbury were still in with a good chance in the last 10 overs when a fine spell by Josh Oshea with 5 for 52 saw Ascot home with 10 balls to spare. The 25 points see Ascot keep top spot by 19 points and are at home to Yateley 3s next week.

The 4s were at home to table topping Bracknell 2s and batted first. Ascot were restricted to 116 for 6 from 47 overs after a great display from their 3 man bowling attack. Bracknell then reached the total comfortably for the loss of only 3 wickets as the bowlers became assured top order batsmen and take the 20 points to maintain their deserved top of the table position with 8 wins out of 11.

The 4s will now look to bounce back away at Windsor 4s.
