This week we start off with the great news that the Under 9s have reached the final of the West Surrey Cup. Ascot played Walton in the semi-final. After winning the toss they elected to field and some great bowling and fielding restricted Walton to 237 for 12. Ascot then batted sensibly to reach 291 for 1 and they will be playing the final against Horsley & Send this Sunday at Horsley & Send CC at 10am. All supporters are welcome!
Week 10 saw a tough start for the senior teams in the second half of the season.
The 1s played Thatcham Town. Thatcham won the toss and elected to field. Ascot’s innings was built around James Wensley’s 55 and Andy Murray’s 45 as they made 190 for 9 off 52 overs. Thatcham found batting easier though and won comfortably by 6 wickets. Ascot are tied in third place with Slough 2 and High Wycombe 2.
The 2s were at Boyne Hill 2s. Again Ascot lost the toss and were put into bat. Batting was again difficult and Ascot managed to reach 151 for 9 off 52 overs with Ian Martin top scoring with 33. Ascot are now in third place swapping positions with Boyne Hill.
