The 1s went to Slough 2 needing a win to keep the pressure on Henley 2 at the top of the table. We won the toss and batted first. However, despite contributions from Kendall 40, Will Ellison 46 and Nick Wiggett 30 – the score was an under par 165 all out.
This was borne out as Slough 2 raced to the total for the loss of one wicket in the 23rd over. Henley 2 are now very strong favourites to get the only promotion spot.
The 2s entertained Reading 3 at Locks Ride. Winning the toss they decided to field first. A frantic innings saw Reading 157 all out in the 30th over. Henry Chapman did the damage with 5 for 38 and Nikesh Patel took 3 for 26. Ascot reached the total for the loss of 5 wickets with Jack Lunghusen 38, Murray Barter 35 and Howard Green 30. Despite the win the 2s remain in 3rd place
The 3s were at Purley-on-Thames 2 and were put into bat. The innings was defined by two great innings from Dan Corsini 95 not out and Chris Nichol 65 to reach 257 for 7. Purley kept up with the rate and it was very close in the end but Purley settled for the draw in the last over reaching 236 for 8 with a fine 74 not out from Mohammad Arshad and 58 from James Measham. The 2s dropped to 3rd place after that draw
The 4s played top of the table Wokingham 4. Ascot were inserted and struggled at 8 for 3 then 33 for 4. But they reached a respectable 182 for 7 thanks to Cameron Temple’s 73 and 48 from John Dunnet.
However, Wokingham showed their class by reaching for 6 wickets and with 3 overs remaining, as all the batsmen contributed. The 4s remain in 8th place.
