So as we near the business end of the season it is all to play for still for all 4 teams.

The 1s are in a distant second place to Henley 2s and as there is only one promotion place then this is unlikely but the 1s want to build on their second ever season in Division 2 having been relegated after their only other season in the Division.

They were at home to Wargrave and were asked to bat first after losing the toss. A good all round batting performance with contributions from Jack Kendall 66 and Nick Sweetman 59 seeing Ascot to 252 for 6 declared.

Despite several Wargrave players making starts and getting into the 30s, they lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 190. Will Ellison & Andy Murray taking 3 wickets a piece.

The win keeps Ascot in 2nd place – 56 points behind Henley.

The 2s were away at top of the table Bagshot 2s. Bagshot won the toss and batted first, making 250 for 4 declared thanks to Geoff Young’s 95 and 65 not out from Jeremy Davis.

It looked a tall order, especially with the top 4 out relatively cheaply but Henry Chapman 49 and George Payne 97 kept Ascot in the run chase and need only 6 an over off the last 4 overs when Payne got out. Unfortunately Ascot fell 14 runs short reaching 236 all out with Jeremy Davis winning man of the match honours by taking 5 for 53.

The 2s are still in 3rd place but are 20 points behind Boyne Hill 2s.

The 3s travelled to Wargrave 2s for a top of the table clash. But after asking Ascot to bat, Wargrave showed why they are the runaway leaders as they blew away Ascot for 151 all out, with only Jack Lunghusen 83 and Rob Major 34 making any mark with the bat.

Wargrave easily reached the target for just the loss of 2 wickets as Kam Hanif 62 and Oscar Gutierrez 40 not out saw them home.

Ascot remain in 2nd place but only by 8 points and there is a close battle between 2nd and 5th.

The 4s are in a relegation battle and were at home to Datchet 4s. Datchet won the toss and batted first. Some tight bowling from Ian Warren and Richard Ellison kept the score down on the early overs but then Datchet through David Quincy 48 not out and Gurinder Sumra 41 posted a respectable 184 for 7.

Ascot looked in trouble at 17 for 2 but Charlie Dunnett 67 not out and Chris Nichol 93 not out saw Ascot home by 8 wickets to pick up a valuable 25 points and lift them to 8th place.
