On the Colts front matches are coming in thick and fast. The Under 9s played Chobham last Thursday and in a nail-biting finish won by 6 runs to make it 2 wins out of 2 in the West Surrey League. They followed that up the next day with a more comfortable 54 run win over Stoke D’Abernon to make it 3 out of 3.

The Under 9 Development team are playing well but fell were beaten by Thames Ditton and Englefield Green. The Under 15s lost to Weybridge by 71 runs.

The Under 10 Development team won by 10 runs against Pyrford.

Week 7 was a week to forget for most of the senior teams with early finishes in all but one match. The 1s were at home to High Wycombe 2 and were put into bat.

Several players got starts, Andy English 18, Nick Sweetman 23, James Wensley 23 and Will Ellison top scored with 30 at No.8 but 137 all out off 40 overs was never going to be enough. Conner Haddow was chief destroyer with 5 for 31.

High Wycombe reached the total in the 26th over for the loss of 3 wickets with Henry Moore top scoring with 58 not out.

The 1s are on the road at 3rd placed Slough 2s.

Away at Reading 2s, winning the toss and deciding to bat, the result was similar as they were bowled out for 109 in the 41st over. Rob Handley top scored with 38 and Deep Mohain with 13 was the only other batsman to reach double figures.

Reading reached the total with 7 wickets in hand in 31.4 overs.

The 2s are at home at Locks Ride to 8th placed Burnham 3s.

The 3s were at home and asked to bat against Sonning 2s. However, despite 32 from Gary Clarke and 25 from Graham Anderson, the hosts only reached 136 all out in 41.1 overs. Naqash Tahir took 5 for 16 for the visitors.

In the end Sonning coasted home in the 20th over for the loss of only 2 wickets with Mark Richards 73 not out.

The 3s visit mid-table Cove 3 at the Aldershot Garrison ground.

So it was left to the 4s to spare the club’s blushes against Datchet 4s. The 4s won the toss and elected to bat first. The innings was built around 48 from John Dunnet, Rob Phillips 29 and a 6th wicket unbroken stand between Mark Wiggett 27 not out and Richard Baker 41 not out. A score of 248 for 5 off 46 overs was also aided by 67 extras.

Datchet made good progress with an impressive 92 from Khalid Saleem and 49 from Bilal Shaikh but as wickets fell and overs started to run out then Ascot managed to get the win with 1 over and 27 runs to spare. Naeem Mohammad taking an impressive 5 for 56.

This week the 4s are at home in Windlesham to Sonning 3s.
