Given the ever growing popularity of Girls and Women’s’ cricket, Royal Ascot CC is planning to re-establish a stand-alone Girls section
Royal Ascot is one of the largest and most successful clubs in the area with over 120 junior members. As many of you know, in conjunction with the Chance to Shine programme, the club already works closely with a number of schools in the area providing cricket coaching in the summer term.
We would like to offer Girls in the Ascot area a chance to try out cricket at the Club this summer. We are running free taster sessions on Wednesday 5th July and Wednesday 12th July (6pm to 7pm) with professionally qualified cricket coaches. These sessions will be aimed at Girls aged 7 to 13 (Y2 to Y8). All equipment will be provided. The Girls just need to wear sports kit/tracksuit.
If we can get a core group of girls who are interested in playing cricket, then we would run some further sessions over the winter (indoors) with a view to properly forming the section in 2018.
The sessions will be held at our main ground at the Racecourse.
