The 1s were on the road at Finchampstead 2s. Finchampstead won the toss and batted first. Despite some hard work put in by Andy Murray, Charlie Dunnett and Jez Hare, Finch were able to reach a decent total of 231 for 8 built around Gary Loveday’s 80. Nick Wiggett snapped up 4 for 12 at the end of the innings.

But the 1s were never able to get going with only Nick Sweetman reaching double figures with a fine 57. Ollie Armstrong-Wood and Andy Lazenby took 4 wickets each.

A disappointing end but the 1s will look to bounce back against Beaconsfield at home on Saturday.

The 2s were at home to Reading 2s, who won the toss and elected to field. The opening bowlers kept it tight and Ascot found runs hard to get but with Jem Bains top scoring with 41, Ascot reached a respectable 184 for 7 off 52 overs.

Stand-in skipper Myles Trainor did some early damage with 5 for 67 and at 102 for 6, Reading 2s were on the back foot. But an unbeaten 7th wicket partnership between Michael Griesel 68 not out and Philip Brennan 38 not out saw Reading home with 16 balls to spare.

The 2s go on the road to Theale & Tilehurst.

The 3s were the visitors at top of the table Fleet 2. Ascot won the toss and elected to bat. Disney on debut made for the 3s made 54 and supported by Mark Wiggett 32, the 3s made 153 all out.

Fleet started quickly, looking to finish the match quickly and in the end eased to a 5 wicket win with just under 30 overs left. Steve Merker top scored with 49.

The 3s are at home to White Waltham 2.

The 4s had a relegation battle at home to Datchet 4. Datchet won the toss and elected to field. All the Ascot batsmen got good starts but the innings was built around Rob Philip’s 76 not out as Ascot reached a strong total of 256 for 5 off 40 overs.

In the end Datchet 4s struggled with the bat and were grateful for 53 extras to reach 118 all out in 36 overs. Austra Franklyn the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 35.

The 4s are the visitors at Thatcham Town 3s this week.
