The 1s were at home to Beaconsfield. Ascot asked were to bat first. Runs were hard to get as the bowling and fielding remained tight throughout the innings. Samm Daniel 41 not out. James Gamble 37 and Gary Clarke 28 helped Ascot reach 156 for 8 off 52 overs.
In the end, Beaconsfield made light work and won with 6 wickets and just under 16 overs to spare with David Heavyside top scoring with 67 not out.
The 2s were on the road at Thatcham Town 2. On winning the toss, they elected to bat first. Everyone chipped in with Dan Corsini top scoring with 41 as Ascot were bowled out in the 48th over for 201.
Paul Hemming 4 for 43 and Nathan Redmond 4 for 47 did the damage for Thatcham. In the end the finish was a nail biter as Jona Spriggs 76 and Jack North 35 got Thatcham close to victory but Myles Trainor 5 for 79, Aarav Radhakrishnan 3 for 41 and Nick Wiggett 2 for 34 edged the 2s to a narrow 4 run victory.
The 3s were at North Maidenhead to play Slough 5. Ascot won the toss and batted first. Disney with 34 and Dirk Benneyworth 33 helped restore order in the middle order but an unbeaten 10th wicket stand of 41 by Tom Dummigan 24 not out and Tim Howson 17 not out saw Ascot reach 199 for 9 off 52 overs.
The Ascot bowling attack shared the wickets around and bowled out Slough for 140 to win comfortably in the end by 59 runs.
The 4s entertained Wokingham 5 at Locks Ride. In the end it was a comfortable 7 wicket win for Wokingham as Ascot were bowled out for 112 and Wokingham reached the total in the 27th over.
We’re now reaching the business end of the season, the 1s and 4s have a lot of work to do, while the 2s and 3s just need to keep the momentum going!
