The 1s visited Henley 2s in search of a victory to avoid relegation. Henley won the toss and elected to bat first. While Johnny Connell was top scorer with 44, 8 players scored 16 or more to see them reach 259 for 9 off 50 overs.

Andy Murray 3 for 27 and Joshua Jayasingh 3 for 60 were the pick of the Ascot bowler.

In the end it was beyond Ascot, with Nick Sweetman top scoring with 34 but they managed to get a respectable 211 all out as Cameron Jacobsen took 4 for 50.

The 1s say farewell to Level 2 with a home match against Reading.

The 2s needed a win against Falkland 3s at home to ensure they remained clear of 8th position. Ascot won the toss and elected to field.

A fine bowling and fielding performance led by Andy Wiggett’s 4 for 27 saw Falkland being bowled out for 110 in 36.5 overs.

Rain arrived during the Ascot innings but made little difference as the made light of the ARR score to win by 9 wickets with 86 for 1 in 10 overs led by Robbie Handley’s 46 not out.

The 2s are now safe and finish the season at Henley 3s.

The 3s were away at Maidenhead & Bray 3s – and again needed to get points to ensure they finish above 8th place. Maidenhead & Bray won the toss and elected to bat first.

Their innings of 212 for 9 off 45 overs was built around Josh Wallace’s 67 and 49 from Allan Hagglund. Mike Wyatt was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 37.

Rain impacted the innings and Ascot needed to chase 189. Despite Dirk Benneyworth’s 33, Ascot finished the match 44 runs short – 144 all out but with enough points to ensure they finish above 8th place and be safe for 2020.

The 3s finish the season at Windsor Great Park against Kidmore End 2s.

The 4s were at home to Theale & Tilehurst 3. On winning the toss Ascot elected to field. Matthew Hearn-Phillips 68, Khadim Aslam 61 and Sachin Rane 37 saw Theale & Tilehurst reach 254 for 4 off 40 overs.

The rain came during Ascot’s second over and the target was adjusted to 191 off 30 overs. Neal Feely 58, Nino Trapani 41 and Billy Baker 28 put the 4s in a great position but the middle and late order fell away to 176 for 9 and lose by 14 runs. Alastair Brown took 4 for 41 for the visitors.

The 4s say farewell to Level 8 when they travel to Boyne Hill 4s.
